Die Tritojesajanische Sammlung (Jes 56 – 66) redaktionsgeschichtlich untersucht
Seizo Sekine
Bernhard Duhm designated Isaiah 56-66 a "Third Isaiah" in 1892, and critics have debated ever since whether these chapters are the product of one author or of several. That is the issue Sekine says he intends to address in this revision of his Munich dissertation. He resolves it quickly, and conducts a meticulous study of the "Tritio-Isaianic collection" and its redaction. S.'s survey of prior research on Isaiah 56-66 (pp. 3-23) is comprehensive, but it is Eiliger, Volz, Westermann, and especially Karl Pauritsch, who set the terms of his investigation. Unfortunately, S. could not engage the continuing and quite different analysis of O. H. Steck.
